Company History
EcoSaw is now based in Brierfield, NSW, Australia - halfway between Sydney and Brisbane.
The EcoSaw began in 1989 by David Lewis as Lewisaw Pty Ltd, manufacturing the Lewisaw hand portable sawmill, invented by David Lewis, with Graeme Parry as the Manager.
Over the next few years, Graeme and David continued to improve the design and materials used in the Lewisaw, and also designed and produced a number of products that can be used along with the sawmill, such as the Sanding Disc, and the Chainsaw Slabbing Crable.
In 1996, Graeme set up Ecological Sawmill Systems Pty Ltd to manufacture the portable sawmill, now called the EcoSaw, under license to Lewisaw, at the original premises in Bunbury. Lewisaw Pty Ltd no longer undertakes any manufacturing.
In January 2004 EcoSaw was purchase by Arthur & Lindsey Dyason (owners of an EcoSaw) and moved manufacturing to its current location at Brierfield, NSW.
Manufacture was changed to stainless steel and the new EcoSaw products where re-launched at the AusTimber Expo April 2004. Improvements include an ALL stainless steel construction, addition of electric and deisel engines as well as thicknessing, log lathe, log handling accessories and Rotary Milling.
During 2006 EcoSaw introduced a number of new products including an entry level mill, full commercial mill, pack docking table and a firewood processor.
